1. What information do we collect?
Personal information you disclose to us
In short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you request product information or a sales contact, or otherwise when you contact us.
Personal information provided by you. Through our contact form we collect your name, phone number, email address, organization, industry type, and the message you write. If you correspond with a Kayem Foodservice representative afterwards, we keep the business contact details needed to serve your account. All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes.
Information automatically collected
In short: Some information, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and browser and device characteristics, is collected automatically when you visit our Website.
We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Website. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, and information about how and when you use our Website. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Website and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes. We use Google Analytics 4 with enhanced measurement (page views, scroll depth, outbound clicks, on-site searches, and file downloads) in Google Consent Mode: it sets no cookies and receives only cookieless, aggregated signals until you allow analytics cookies in our Cookie Consent Manager.
- Log and usage data. Our hosting provider’s servers automatically record diagnostic and usage information in log files: your IP address, browser type and settings, the date and time of each request, pages and files viewed, and error reports.
- Device data. Information about the computer, phone, or tablet you use to access the Website, such as IP address, browser type, hardware model, operating system, and system configuration.
- Location data. We derive only an approximate location (country or region) from your IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location.

2. How do we use your information?
In short: We process your information for purposes based on legitimate business interests, the fulfillment of our contract with you, compliance with our legal obligations, and/or your consent.
We use the information we collect or receive:
- To respond to your inquiries and offer support. When you submit the contact form, we use your information to route your request to the right Kayem Foodservice representative, broker, or distributor and to respond to you.
- To deliver and facilitate the delivery of Services to you, including product information, specification sheets, samples, and account support for your foodservice operation.
- To send you marketing and promotional communications, only if this is in accordance with your marketing preferences. You can opt out of our marketing emails at any time (see “What are your privacy rights?” below).
- To protect our Services, including fraud monitoring and prevention, and to keep the Website secure.
- To improve the Website, using aggregated Google Analytics data. Detailed, cookie-based measurement happens only where you have consented to analytics cookies.
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell products through this Website, and we do not use your information to deliver targeted advertising.
3. Will your information be shared with anyone?
In short: We only share information with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services, to protect your rights, or to fulfill business obligations.
We may process or share your data that we hold based on the following legal bases: consent (where you have given us specific consent for a specific purpose), legitimate interests (where reasonably necessary to achieve our legitimate business interests), performance of a contract, legal obligations (to comply with applicable law, governmental requests, judicial proceedings, court orders, or legal process), and vital interests (to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding potential violations of our policies, suspected fraud, threats to the safety of any person, or illegal activities).
More specifically, we may need to process or share your personal information in the following situations:
- Business transfers. In connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business.
- Google Maps Platform. The Contact page embeds a Google Map, which loads only after you allow functional cookies. When it loads, Google receives your IP address. See Google’s privacy policy.
- Vendors, consultants, and other third-party service providers. We share data with third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, or agents who perform services for us and require access to such information to do that work, such as website hosting, email delivery, and data analysis (Google Analytics). We allow Google to use tracking technology on the Website only within the limits of your cookie choices. Unless described in this notice, we do not share, sell, rent, or trade any of your information with third parties for their promotional purposes.
- Brokers and distributors. Kayem sells to foodservice operators through brokers and distributors. To fulfill your request we may pass your business contact information to the broker or distributor that serves your area.
4. Who will your information be shared with?
In short: We only share information with the following categories of third parties.
- Website hosting service providers
- Communication and collaboration tools (email delivery)
- Data analytics services (Google Analytics 4; cookie-based measurement only if you consent to analytics cookies)
- Sales brokers and foodservice distributors that serve your account

5. Do we use cookies and other tracking technologies?
In short: We may use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect and store your information, subject to your choices.
We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the Website and, only with your consent, functional, analytics, or marketing cookies. When you first visit, a consent banner lets you accept or reject each category, and you can change your preferences at any time on our Cookie Policy page. Specific information about the technologies we use and how you can refuse certain cookies is set out in that Cookie Policy.
6. How long do we keep your information?
In short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy notice unless otherwise required by law.
We keep contact form submissions for as long as needed to respond to you and to maintain our foodservice relationship with your organization, and no longer than one year after our last contact with you unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). Server logs are retained for a limited period for security purposes. When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will delete or anonymize it, or, if this is not possible (for example, because it is stored in backup archives), securely store and isolate it from further processing until deletion is possible.
7. How do we keep your information safe?
In short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.
We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process, including HTTPS encryption for the Website and restricted access to stored submissions. However, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Transmission of personal information to and from our Website is at your own risk. You should only access the Website within a secure environment.

In short: You may review, change, or request deletion of your information at any time.

You will then be removed from the marketing email list; however, we may still communicate with you to respond to service requests or for other non-marketing purposes.
Cookies and similar technologies: You can accept or reject non-essential cookies in our Cookie Consent Manager and most web browsers let you remove or reject cookies. If you choose to reject cookies, this could affect certain features of our Website, such as the embedded map. 9. Controls for Do-Not-Track features

This Website honors those signals: when your browser sends a DNT or GPC signal, we treat analytics and marketing cookies as declined regardless of the choice made in the consent banner.
10. Do California residents have specific privacy rights?
In short: Yes, if you are a resident of California, you are granted specific rights regarding access to your personal information.
California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the “Shine The Light” law, permits our users who are California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year. Will your information be shared with anyone else? We may disclose your personal information with our service providers pursuant to a written contract between us and each service provider. Each service provider is a for-profit entity that processes the information on our behalf. We may use your personal information for our own business purposes, such as undertaking internal research for technological development and demonstration. This is not considered to be “selling” of your personal data. Kayem Foods has disclosed the following categories of personal information to third parties for a business or commercial purpose in the preceding twelve (12) months: Category A and Category B identifiers and contact information, to the service providers, brokers, and distributors described in section 4. Kayem Foods has not sold any personal information to third parties for a business or commercial purpose in the preceding twelve (12) months and will not sell personal information in the future belonging to website visitors, users, and other consumers.
Your rights with respect to your personal data
- Right to request deletion of the data (request to delete). You can ask for the deletion of your personal information. We will respect your request and delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions provided by law, such as the exercise by another consumer of his or her right to free speech, our compliance requirements resulting from a legal obligation, or any processing that may be required to protect against illegal activities.
- Right to be informed (request to know).
